The Chess Scene: Is There a Mate In It for You?
Whilst having no great expertise to offer, the flood of emails I received about chess playing women has persuaded me to offer a few words of advice. As far as males are concerned the chess scene is, ironically, a most unsuitable environment in which to find a mate. Very few women are interested in the game, stacking the odds against males from the outset through the simple laws of supply and demand. I have yet to hear of an attractive woman who has shown much interest in discussing the Trompovsky, and not only because White brings his bishop out a tad too early. In short you need another interest, and one which is shared by a large number of females.
