One is reading The Living Sword by Aldo Nadi, perhaps the greatest Italian fencer. His life consists of gambling, romance and seduction unlimited, and drinking without training.

After beating everyone in Europe in match games, like our boxing matches, he moves to the United States where he finds "no interest in fencing whatsoever". He loathes his brother who was the previous Europe's best, and has nothing good to say for his competitors.

I have not read the last 100 pages yet, but I am waiting to see if my father's adage that all gamblers die broke and degenerates holds true.

    Hi Vic,

I have been following your blog, and on the front page of your site, there are some numbers relating to the S&P and USB. Could you explain to me what these numbers mean? I can’t seem to figure out where they came from as it does not seem to relate to the open, high, low and close prices.

    Most appreciated.

P.S. Not sure how to contact you, so decided to post here, hope you don’t mind.

I watched two women fence during the past Olympics. I would not want to ever get a dual with them. They really knew their stuff.

They are close to close price change in long bond futures using a 3 pm close, and close to close in sp futures using the 4:15 close. the red is when they're both down and the green is when they're both up, etc. v
