schooling, life expectancy, nutrition, hours worked, human development, freedom, poverty … there have been steady gains.
The work of Lomborg updates Simon on all measures of environmental quality in the air and water showing vast and continuous improvement.
How small the flexions would keep man so as to be better able to take our chips, and make us so hopeless as they take so much more than Bacon would have us give.

This is true in so many ways. My passion for music and its undeniable beauty has not been a recipient of such good fortune. Analyze a piece by any of those you mentioned in Education of a Speculator’s Music segment and one would have to accept the decreasing amount of effort, love, fervor, and thought that’s placed in today’s music comparatively. I’ve always hoped this doesn’t reflect the general public’s depreciating intelligence.
