I saw a Flip camera in an automatic dispenser Best Buy tube at the airport and bought it for 200. I see today they are the world's biggest fakers are discontinuing the product (I am long that fakers stock). Meyer Berman used to go to all the discount stores to see what's not selling and what's bad. I wonder if there are any modern ways of playing that game. I have always liked the idea of buying the companies that consumer reports rates as having the best product but it is hard to bite into such a study.

My sister works for a well-known network television morning show. Last year all the producers each received half a dozen or so of these Flip cameras to give away to industry folks, friends and family. I thought it was strange in light of all the major television and magazine advertising going on at the time for them. I guess it was the last gasps and silly too! I did get one though! Smartphones have killed off another consumer good with integrated functionality.

Roy told me about this post. It brought back memories of my childhood when I used to go with my father on these trips. He was on a first name basis will every sale clerk in town.
